Left ventricular guidewire pacing may be used during a TAVR procedure for a more minimal approach to transcatheter aortic valve implantation. This education provides an overview of LV-GW pacing as an alternative method for delivering rapid ventricular pacing during TAVR. It explains the electrical pacing circuit, required equipment, patient selection, procedural workflow, team communication, confirmation of effective capture, troubleshooting, potential complications, and post-procedure rhythm management. It also compares LV-GW pacing with traditional right ventricular transvenous pacing.

This presentation was created to provide nurses, technologists, and other structural heart team members with a consistent understanding of the technique, safety considerations, and individual responsibilities. Its purpose is to support procedural readiness, effective team communication, prompt recognition of complications, and the safe delivery of coordinated TAVR care.
